Rebecca Marie Parker
Rebecca “Becky” Marie Parker, 27, of Norman peacefully passed away May 13 after courageously battling cancer for many months.Becky was born to Sonny and Loretta Sewell in Norman, Oklahoma on January 29, 1982. She married William Byron Parker on January 8, 2005 in the Oklahoma City Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for time and all eternity.
Becky attended Norman High School and Provo High School in Utah. She earned her High School Equivalency Diploma in 2001. She loved working with both children and animals, and worked as an au pair in London, England; at a day care center in Norman; and most recently at Sooner Veterinary Hospital. She ran track in high school and participated in other running events in the area. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and enjoyed painting, writing, and reading poetry. She will especially be remembered for her kindness to all those around her.
Becky is survived by her husband, William, of Norman; her parents, Sonny and Loretta Sewell, of Norman; siblings Chris Sewell, of McAlester; Cliff Sewell, of Dougherty Michael Sewell, of Noble; Lisa Reed, of Edmond; Jason Sewell, of Noble; Amy Bonnell, of Oklahoma City; Jon Sewell, of Noble; and Zachary Sewell, of Norman. Becky also is survived by her father- and mother-in-law, Gregory and Jeanene Parker, of Norman; and a large extended family including many nieces and nephews whom she loved very much.
All friends and family are invited to attend the visitation and funeral services, which will be held on Monday, May 18, 2009 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1506 W. Imhoff Road in Norman. A visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 am. Services begin at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made at any Arvest Bank to the “Rebecca Parker Memorial Arvest Cares Account”.

Hello My name is Jennifer. I am a friend of Amy's. While I did not have the privilege of knowing Becky personally, I have a tremendous amount of respect for her and those that loved her. I offer not only my condolences but my prayers. I pray for healing for the friends and family of Becky. I pray for others fighting a similar fight... and finally I pray for a cure!
